You are wrong. The "gallery" model was in .22 short. The l.r. model was simply a 1906.

Have almost that exact same gun in .22 special caliber.

I've been tasked with getting my granddaughter who's 12, a repeating pump action 22 for Christmas. I hear that Rossi makes a good one, but man, I'd love to come across one of these in good shape

That’s a great choice for a 12-year-old! The Winchester 1906 is a classic pump .22. Check GunBroker, local gun shops, or estate sales for a nice one. Rossi makes a good modern version too if you want something new. Teach her safe handling first.
