Renewable energy is the future. Proper installation of wind turbines is a great step toward cleaner, more sustainable power.

The crane crew doing this way up in the wind is the real marvel. One gust and the whole plan changes.

Wasteful money being spent!

I dislike these wind turbines but I can appreciate the skill needed to install one.

One bird slicer: 1700 tons of copper, 1600 t concrete, 1100 t steel, and 120 t fiberglass. All needed mining, transportation, purification, smelting, shaping, coating, more transportation, assembly, kitting,etc.. A household could run for 2400 years on the energy cost for that.

If a 3MW turbine needs 1200 tons of concrete for its base, but the truck can carry only 20 tons per trip and the road allows only 2 trips per day — how many days to pour one foundation, and what does that tell you about why installation takes months, not days?
