Left to Him, He would continue His sleep inside that same storm & nothing would happen. When the storm is tired of “roaring”, it would stop. It takes great faith to rebuke a storm, but it takes even greater faith to sleep & relax in the midst of the storm, irrespective of how fierceful the storm is. When you grow up in a small town you think “ I can’t wait to leave the small Town”. What you can’t replace is the memories and people that make the place special. Yesterday Winthrop took home a state title. Surrounded by thousands of Viking fans and supporters. My nephew a freshman was able to be a part of this team. What makes the story special is everyone in those stands would stand behind these kids at any moment. In 2022 my nephew lost his mother to a courageous battle with cancer. The senior goaltender has a story for the ages also losing his mother but the path he has took to be the best person/ student out there. The list goes on .. It’s more than just a game for these kids in this small town. It’s about the support the get from those around them during times of need. It was an emotional day. But in the end “it’s for the town”. Congrats Vikings.

In spite of the impressive cast of "Murder by Death" (1976), some had their doubts about how the film would do at the box office. Peter Sellers didn't realize how well the film would do. He wasn't pleased with his performance or the final film. He told producer Ray Stark the film was "the epitome of 8mm home moviemaking" and sold his percentage for about $1.3 million. The company David Niven's son worked for invested in the film expecting it to be a tax loss. Instead, "Murder By Death" became the number eight moneymaker of 1976. Niven responded, "So much for a tax loss? But isn't it rather alarming to have a son who has absolutely no faith in his old man's pictures?" Alec Guinness, however, considered Murder By Death "a very funny film." Guinness rarely went to Hollywood, but he liked the script so much, he made the trip in order to play Bensonmum. Guinness said, "The script made me laugh, and not many things in recent times have done that." There was something deeply moving in Colin Davidson paintings when they first caught my eye… the unadorned humanity, the sense of people and place, realism and impressionism symbiotically coexisting… pain and beauty, reflections, mystery, stillness, movement, getting to the raw heart of the matter. The wonder of it all pulled me right in, and held my gaze. When I sent Colin a note conveying my admiration a few years ago he revealed to me his love of music and how a hothouseflowers gig in East Belfast back in 1988 was the first ever gig he went to! A night of joy and celebration during a time on our island that really needed joy and celebration! I invited Colin to a gig in Bangor a couple of years ago and while we were hanging out afterwards he asked me could he paint my portrait! My heart stopped in giddy delight! We’ve since become good pals.. and one of the great honours of my life has been sit for him in his studio.. where we talked, and listened to music, as he sketched and planned the portrait which he unveiled to me just a few days ago! It was a truly beautiful experience… for which I’m eternally grateful! Here it is!! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my work, including my family and close friends, it has meant the world to me, especially as I transitioned into this new space and my work took a new direction abruptly haha. There’s a scene from the 1960 film version of The Time Machine that has been haunting my dreams of late. In the film, the Time Traveller (Rod Taylor) has traveled almost a million years into the future, expecting that when he arrived he would find an advanced civilisation marked by the pursuit of learning. Instead, he finds the Eloi, a race of simple creatures in togas who are bred like cattle, and eaten, by the subterranean Morlocks. In the film’s most harrowing scene, he’s taken by one of the Eloi to a centuries-old library housing the last books in existence, which crumble to dust in his hands. “What have you done?” the Time Traveller demands, as the dreams of centuries turn to ash. “Thousands of years of building and rebuilding, creating and recreating! A million years, the sensitive men dying for their dreams, for what? So you can swim, and dance, and play.” In the last couple weeks I see a lot of men on this platform arguing with a straight face that we should let AI generate our writing for us, that it’s the future, that there’s no fighting it. And I need you all to know that THIS is the ultimate end of a world in which everyone has machines write for them. There will be no more thinking, no more creative expression, no more art or literature. It’s what C. S. Lewis called “the abolition of man.” We will be no different from cattle and our libraries will turn to dust. When ease and entertainment become the highest good, it’s not shocking that people will find clever ways to avoid work and study. But nor should it be surprising when the ultimate fate of the Eloi becomes our own.

In the film’s most harrowing scene, he’s taken by one of the Eloi to a centuries-old library housing the last books in existence, which crumble to dust in his hands. “What have you done?” the Time Traveller demands, as the dreams of centuries turn to ash. “Thousands of years of building and rebuilding, creating and recreating! A million years, the sensitive men dying for their dreams, for what? So you can swim, and dance, and play.” In the last couple weeks I see a lot of men on this platform arguing with a straight face that we should let AI generate our writing for us, that it’s the future, that there’s no fighting it. And I need you all to know that THIS is the ultimate end of a world in which everyone has machines write for them. There will be no more thinking, no more creative expression, no more art or literature. It’s what C. S. Lewis called “the abolition of man.” We will be no different from cattle and our libraries will turn to dust. When ease and entertainment become the highest good, it’s not shocking that people will find clever ways to avoid work and study. But nor should it be surprising when the ultimate fate of the Eloi becomes our own.

today would have been Oliver Tree birthday . he brought me so much joy just to know a creator that loved and breathed his art 1000% every time I see him I felt like I wasn’t doing enough .. but it wasn’t just the work as a musician it was life . he lived it every moment to the fullest - he gave everything in his bones to making the world a better place with his music . a lot of people might have just been turned on to him that wasn’t familiar . and he would be so happy to see the impact he had .. at a great time with everyone looksmaxing, faking their way to the algorithm and making music for the money - he tried to steer humanity into a greater place where being the best version yourself is the greatest gift you can give... this is one of the demos we had - in retrospect it makes me cry to listen back to.. what a big heart this man had
