This is called “race to sleep,” and it is not a lazy trick. macOS and Linux already do similar things. CPU utilization does not spike the same way, so this is not your PC suddenly working harder forever. It is a short frequency burst to make Windows feel more responsive. I know people love mocking Windows performance, and often for good reason, but this one actually works. Apps open faster now, especially on budget and older PCs where every second of delay is noticeable. Windows 11 is finally getting the kind of performance work it should have had from day one.
