Thank you so much for making this happen!!

We have a great team! I'm just the person on here tweeting about it :)

Are remote SSH connections supported?

Coming very soon! Hopefully next week. We wanted to go ahead and get WSL out but it's the basic type of architecture for supporting SSH and any generic remote host.

Great! I only switch to @code for remote SSH. Once this lands, I can fully switch to the Copilot app.

What is it good for? Honest question?

I've had problems in making this work. The sessions are not starting and giving errors. Raised an issue on github

thanks for logging a bug! we'll take a look

Possible to support adding project from main menu, instead of add from settings?

Yep, next up for us (ability to add from/clone directly into WSL)

Even supporting WSL containers!

Thank you. Finally.

Could you please check your DMs? I need your help. 🙏🏻

Bravo 👏🏻

Very cool!

That feeling when Microsoft's most successful product is Linux.

What about devcontainers?

Coming to a GitHub Copilot app near you

That's great, please do add other mainstream model providers like Codex and Claude. Copilot subscription is too expensive for me.

Awesome

That’s awesome. But the fact we cannot use Copilot App on Mac behind a proxy should be a priority, shouldn’t it ? Why stacking feature when the basic ones is still not fixed ?

Proxy is coming very soon!

I can test it !

It... wasn't?

I am getting this error all the time. any help? git error on host `wsl:Ubuntu`: list_workspace_directory failed on remote host: rpc error -32007: authentication required for

Exactly, I found it when installing Docker

nice. now make env + paths + mounts + toolchain first-class too. otherwise ‘works in this agent’ is just ‘works on my machine’ with better branding

WSL 支持对 Copilot app 很关键,建议首批 smoke test 覆盖路径映射、Linux 权限、端口转发和 Windows/WSL 双 git config;这些边界最容易让 agent 误判环境。

Supported in what way? This doesn't look like anything unusual

This will save so many context switches between Windows tools and Linux builds during a normal workday.

WSL support doesnt change how Copilot generates code, it just changes where the model runs from.

What is the specific use?

Experimental WSL in GitHub's Copilot app gives the agent another filesystem on the same box. That is a data boundary, not just a convenience flag. Is the distro treated as the user's machine, or as a sandbox?

Add support for custom headers and body for customendpoints and openrouter in copilot.

Odd. I just used it to build an entire flutter plugin with testing on Linux last week. Is this new?

The GitHub Copilot app belongs in your dock. GPS explains why. 👀
