Hitchin. Maidenhead. Marlow. Queen's Park of Glasgow. Royal Engineers. Upton Park. Wanderers. Fifteen clubs. Out of fifty who were eligible. Most of them thought it was a nice idea. Some of them didn't bother replying at all. Three withdrew before they even played a match. Twelve clubs actually competed. Thirteen games in total.
