Wire was real avant-garde: punk at the genre's peak, post-punk before anyone else, and synth-punk only surpassed by Suicide. Claustrophobic, tense, punk, pop, experimental, and with great lyrics. One of the greatest bands of all time.

Every time I listen to this I ask the question did Crass borrow from wire?

Guaranteed to start a headbanging moshpit, even at the age of 63.

Wire - Pink Flag My album of the day. 21 songs, in a rapid-fire 36 minutes; punk stripped down to its bones. Short, sharp, with no messing around. This is what Ramones may’ve sounded like if they went to art school. 1977. 🎧 Feeling Called Love

Wire - "Mannequin". (1977). Wire are a legendary London band formed in ’76, known as major pioneers of post-punk and art punk. They made waves with their signature style: super short, stripped-back, fast-paced tracks, their debut album famously packed 21 songs.
