Guys like Hikaru and many other similar do make it far in competitions. But they normally don’t win. Being unique is a minimum requirement to be a leading contender at any tournament or qualification. You can’t show up do 20 airflairs and win. Thats just to say the guy as who made it further are strong on all dimensions, including “uniqueness”
