Hi Martin, I used the comparison sites and renewed 24 days before to get my quote down. My renewal had increased from £800 to £1464 this year, but I managed to obtain the same cover for £646.46 a Massive saving of £817 - not bad for a few hours work. Thanks again Martin.

The idea that someone with over 10 years' no claims bonus is "riskier" because they renew with only a week or so to go doesn't make much sense.

Why did my car insurance go up after a no fault accident where all costs were covered by the other insurance company

Is there a lobby to stop this practice by insurance companies?

Sometimes it doesn’t work the quote is only a period of 7 days or less

great tip for saving money

O couldn't believe job title makes a difference to the price! Unemployed and Retired are two completely different figures. Thanks for the prompter too. My car insurance expires end Feb so perfectly timed reminder to hunt a better deal!

Helps if your current insurer send you the renewal price in a timely manner.

I’m more shocked by how much the average insurance number is. I pay 15% of that amount.

It's pretty disgusting really. It's based on algorithms not risk.

Many times they don’t give you that amount of days last time I did it had to take the policy within 7 days of the quote

Another great show 👊🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

Martin will train u how to stay just about above water by spending hours to say the odd 50 quid instead of teaching you how to really make money through investment etc.

Car insurance is a con . My 5k mini suv diesel costs more to insure than a 20k lotus elise s2

watching for insurance tips is helpful

Mine in due mid Jan so its very tricky as so busy with Christmas But my reinsurance quote was 465 I shopped around and could get it for £420 So went back to my original insurer and managed to get it down to £412 😊

have a good day

I’m assuming this is for people who switch? I would love to know the amount of existing @lv customers this has worked for. It’s never worked for me. They would rather customers leave than lower the renewal quote.

Haven’t you covered the same story before though just saying

Yes. I last did it on my show two years ago. Personal finance is often cyclical, I can't ignore some tips just because I've done them before. They still work and are still new to some. Though I always try and add new things each time.

Is this why renewal dates are requested? And why does this gap influence the underlying risk and therefore product premium?

Why don’t you go after the post claims market e.g. somebody hit your parked car, not your fault at all … your premium goes up despite it being somebody else’s fault. Mental markets

We covered that in the show

timing is crucial for insurance savings

Complete joke that this sort of thing even exists and the hoops people need to jump through!

This is great Martin, but meanwhile the NHS and Councils are working on projects to enable hedge funds to bet on peoples health outcomes through derivatives. We need people with your skills and knowlegde to fight against this sort of thing. It cannot be right that they can make money betting on whether people get more ill or less when they can affect that outcome by how much investment is put in and how wealthy people are. So basically it is rigged before we start. This is happening now.

Is this for only new policies or would it work for your renewal and staying with the same provider?

Will be interesting if the insurance companies are watching. Will the graph alter next year when they know customers are getting savvy?

How about for a new driver?
