I came across this clip from the V&A Museum and felt this instant wave of gratitude for museums, for the fact that our heritage is being preserved, protected, and made accessible. And of course, my mind wandered (you know how I am), so I started digging into who actually invented the idea of a museum and which one was the first in the world. Turns out the earliest known museum was the Ennigaldi‑Nanna Museum in Ur, in what is now Iraq. It dates to around 530 BC and held artifacts spanning more than a thousand years of history. Even more incredible: it was only discovered in 1925, when archaeologist Leonard Woolley uncovered clay “museum labels” that revealed its true purpose.

📍Orange Hertiage Museum Today the Legacy Network took a group of lads from Ravenhill, East Belfast, to visit Shomberg House for a guided tour learning about the Battle of the Boyne, the Glorious Revolution and the Orange Order. Great to have groups of young people eager to learn about their history, identity and culture. Big thanks to the Orange Museum for accommodating us. The museum is free for everyone.
