Huawei's new 3D lock screen wallpaper is actually pretty interesting. Unlike iPhone's Spatial Photo, which creates a fixed stereoscopic depth effect from a photo, this lets you scan an object 360°, generate a full 3D Gaussian Splatting asset, and use that as your lock screen. Tilt the phone and you're moving through a reconstructed 3D scene, not a fixed stereo image. The part worth paying attention to: 3D capture moving out of creative pipelines and into everyday phone personalization. That's a different kind of adoption curve.

The (Processing) Level Required to Be Super We’ve had clients ask us whether our 3D/4DGS capture and processing pipeline holds up in high-end VFX cinematic shots. Last year we were fortunate to work on the Superman production with Framestore (capturing Superman’s parents for a hologram), with our work shown on IMAX screens ~30 m high—so we’re confident the quality delivers. For this R&D preview, we ran test captures using an affordable off-the-shelf temporal plugin to reduce flicker and improve stability over time. We recorded @ 48fps from our 196x machine vision cameras and trained the 4DGS using Postshot at Ultra quality ~20 million splat resolution. What you’re seeing are stop-motion 3DGS frames. Each frame is an individual Gaussian Splat—processed to ~20 million splats for the full scene, then cropped and cleaned to ~6 million splats per frame. Our system—and the 3DGS process—picks up fine details like stray fine hairs, skin pores and woven cloth threads. Thanks for watching & stay super! Gaussian Head Avatar: Ultra High-fidelity Head Avatar via Dynamic Gaussians paper page: Creating high-fidelity 3D head avatars has always been a research hotspot, but there remains a great challenge under lightweight sparse view setups. In this paper, we propose Gaussian Head Avatar represented by controllable 3D Gaussians for high-fidelity head avatar modeling. We optimize the neutral 3D Gaussians and a fully learned MLP-based deformation field to capture complex expressions. The two parts benefit each other, thereby our method can model fine-grained dynamic details while ensuring expression accuracy. Furthermore, we devise a well-designed geometry-guided initialization strategy based on implicit SDF and Deep Marching Tetrahedra for the stability and convergence of the training procedure. Experiments show our approach outperforms other state-of-the-art sparse-view methods, achieving ultra high-fidelity rendering quality at 2K resolution even under exaggerated expressions.

CES=Chinese Electronics Show. Almost every booth we visited had a Chinese speaker. I gave a tour to the technology leaders from a big Chinese company. We visited Booster Robotics, pictured here. Among about a dozen others. Most are Chinese companies. Or seeing the Antigravity 360-degree drone. Which was the thing that made me drool the most. You put on a VR headset and it is like flying. You can look in all directions and the drone doesn’t need to turn anything. Try to get a chance to try it. Never experienced anything like it. $1,600.

I know many people want Android Auto/Apple Car Play, and this gives the OPTION to use those with your Tesla, along with tons of other info. They have 20% off for preorder, and you can get an additional 10% off with my link: I love using Waze on road trips, and this looks like the way to do it going forward. On top of having a customizable sized android auto experience, the Dash can display charging, vehicle, motor, battery and tons of other info. Enhance was also smart enough to not force it directly in front of the air vents. You can place it where you'd like with their included kit. All the widgets are also customizable, so you can add any you like and resize them. You can also make multiple pages to quickly flip through different info. There's SO much you can do with this *if you want it*. Great job on this one.

However this is based on local reports and it’s possible that it wasn’t a hostile drone. This was followed by widespread GPS disruptions in the area. About an hour later, Iranian IRIAF fighter jets were airborne near the Iranian western borders with Iraq’s Kurdistan. Moments later Iranian drones reportedly struck positions inside Erbil.

Careful initialization not only accelerates convergence but also guides optimization toward a convergence point corresponding to lower reconstruction error and thus higher reconstruction quality. • Our approach outperforms both speed-optimized and quality-focused state-of-the-art models while using only half the splats of standard 3DGS. By improving initialization rather than altering the optimization process, this method is compatible with other 3DGS acceleration techniques, making it a flexible enhancement to existing models.

DroneSplat: 3D Gaussian Splatting for Robust 3D Reconstruction from In-the-Wild Drone Imagery Abstract: Drones have become essential tools for reconstructing wild scenes due to their outstanding maneuverability. Recent advances in radiance field methods have achieved remarkable rendering quality, providing a new avenue for 3D reconstruction from drone imagery. However, dynamic distractors in wild environments challenge the static scene assumption in radiance fields, while limited view constraints hinder the accurate capture of underlying scene geometry. To address these challenges, we introduce DroneSplat, a novel framework designed for robust 3D reconstruction from in-the-wild drone imagery. Our method adaptively adjusts masking thresholds by integrating local-global segmentation heuristics with statistical approaches, enabling precise identification and elimination of dynamic distractors in static scenes. We enhance 3D Gaussian Splatting with multi-view stereo predictions and a voxel-guided optimization strategy, supporting high-quality rendering under limited view constraints. For comprehensive evaluation, we provide a drone-captured 3D reconstruction dataset encompassing both dynamic and static scenes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DroneSplat outperforms both 3DGS and NeRF baselines in handling in-the-wild drone imagery.
