With so many Bible versions and different canons, how do we know which Bible to trust?

“The Catholics have seven additional books” is a bit misleading. Protestants made a decision to officially remove these books only a couple hundred years ago. Paul was written after the apostles. Should we discredit Paul?

It’s amazing to be asked about the Ethiopian Church and then in the answer orally disregard that it was part of the question.

I’d like to know, why would the Bible specifically mention certain other books (like Enoch, Jasher and more), why are those not part of the canon and why it is unreasonable to find and read them. I believe some of these books were meant to be searched out and studied as well. If God lays down bread crumbs, we should follow them.

Take It or Leave It No Pun intended, purely for knowledge purposes n learning in good faith. Why did they have to change, revise, correct, over explain, or translate the Bible but not to leave it as it is in the original form n text of Jesus?? This is why Jesus warned you about this. Now we have different version n 7 extra books, Catholics are saying they are right, protestant are saying they are right, and everyone would pull on their side. Hence, I sometimes ask? Are we followers of Jesus or Followers of Paul?? Bcoz of all Apostle Paul changed n added so much yet he never met jesus, neither walked, ate, preached with jesus but apparently claiming he saw a vision of jesus telling him, oohh i changed my mind on all the things n laws I proclaimed, tell them what i meant, with no witnesses to his vision? Matthew 5.17 Jesus himself said, " Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets," but to affirm it. Clear direct n simple. I did not come to change or abolish the laws, Old Testament. But to affirm them. Keep it in its original form, jesus text n his own words, not other people's explanations. Matthew 5.18 Jesus himself said, " For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled " Jesus knew some people would try to be clever n change texts in favour of, especially the puppets of the establishment, rulers n emporers of that time. So he warned you not to change one dot, one full stop, one comma, one letter, or even one word. Let alone change a whole sentence or paragraph and bring up a new whole meaning by over explaining things. What do you think of this view? I don't need uncouth or bad mouthing replies, I would appreciate clear open explanations... thats all.

So the book of Enoch is a forgery? Wasnt this in the dead sea scrolls?

Frank Turek's endless questions are effortless. Peter told apologists to give an answer — “and be ready always to give an answer…” (1 Peter 3:15, KJV). Real apologetics doesn’t hide behind questions.

The original 1611 King James Version included the Apocrypha.

No orthodox of catholic Christian considers the gospels of thomas peter and the others he mentioned as authentic in fact they consider it forgeries you didn’t answer the question at all just straight up lied

nope.... Council of.... Back in 300 +Ad.... Men got together and took books out that previously were included... Who gave them the authority to remove them? Scripture and verse please that says these people in 300 plus AD had authority from God to do so. Thanks I'll wait

What about the book of Enoch?

Clement’s Letter is not a forgery as far as anyone has discussed.

No no no! Oh dear…

Translation and canon are different questions. I trust the 66 books of Scripture recognized in the Protestant Bible. I use the NLT, but no English translation is itself the original inspired text. Faithful translation matters, and difficult passages deserve careful comparison with the Hebrew and Greek. “All Scripture is inspired by God.” 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT

The one men said to trust….. 😂

Then remove Exodus and parts of several others.

We trust the ones that didn’t come out of the trash bins in Alexandria Antioch is where we get our manuscripts from. Those are the trusted ones.

Understanding there’s only so much time and this is very nuanced, I would’ve liked to hear your thoughts about the Septuagint, codex’ and versions from there. How was LXX commissioned? Why we moved to the current foundation of the OT based on Hebrew post crucifixion? Why did Martin Luther have the apocryphal carefully delineated in their original Protestant Bible as holy but not divine before removing altogether? IF people were in scripture more (sola scriptura), they could read these things and understand some may be helpful with moral teachings while acknowledging they can be grossly off from Divine word. I must check out the canon fodder podcast. 🙏🏽❤️

all this tickle my ear bs with no answer he is asking how did we decide which book is canon and how do we know we had the write one u saying cuz scripture are god breathed and we believe we discover god breathed books is just bs u didnt answer anything

The one that tells you the Jews are still the chosen people and we have to get them all back in the modern secular democracy that was named Israel in 1948. That version is wrong

You are a demonic piece of trash @DrFrankTurek.

Stop it🛑

Human beings determined the canon.

The ancient supernatural library (that the Apostle Paul refers to as "the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD" in Ephesians 6:17, more commonly referred to as the Bible by many typical English speaking human imagers of GOD) in its most trustworthy form, is the original text in its original languages of Hebrew and Greek, as written by its original authors and understood in their historical and cultural context (not ours.) The reason we have so many versions is that translations can be copyrighted.

I trust what ever Frank says!!!

Because the Ethiopian Bible is way older than the King James Version…
