.BJP and Election Commission of India are playing with fire, and yesterday’s unfortunate incident in Malda is the direct result of their dirty conspiracy. They removed and transferred experienced State Government officials and senior police officers who knew every corner of Bengal like the back of their hand. In their place, they imposed Central officers who have zero understanding of our geography, demography or ground reality. These outsiders are ill-equipped to handle local situations, and now BJP is using this isolated incident to malign the entire state and paint Bengal as lawless. This is unpardonable. If anyone is truly at fault, it is Amit Shah. For repeatedly failing in his duty to protect the people, for weakening law and order, and for playing politics with Bengal’s peace, Amit Shah must tender his resignation immediately. Bengal will not tolerate this vicious conspiracy.

The spirit of Bengal is incompatible with the divisive ideology of BJP. The Bangla-Birodhi zamindars have no regard for our people, our language, our culture, or our identity. Blinded by arrogance, they have now started branding legitimate Bengali-speaking Indian citizens as “illegal immigrants.” Our people, working in BJP-ruled states, are being harassed, detained in holding camps, and deported across the border. This is BJP’s unconstitutional, undemocratic, anti-federal, and anti-people 'Detention Camp Model' in action. Let them not forget that Bengal was the nerve centre of India’s freedom struggle. BJP and their B-teams are working with a calculated, ulterior motive to destabilise Bengal, stoke unrest ahead of the elections, and reap electoral benefit from the chaos they themselves unleash. They want to poison minds, sow hatred, pit community against community, and paint Bengal as a lawless land. They are actively conspiring to impose President's Rule through the backdoor, so desperate are they to seize power by any means necessary. The people of Bengal will not allow this. Today, at my janasabhas in Sagardighi, Suti, and Baisnabnagar, I was received with outstretched arms and open hearts. I have strongly called upon the people to exercise restraint, remain democratic in their conduct, refuse to be provoked, and above all, maintain peace. I say to the people with full conviction that we will let no harm befall you. With Babasaheb Ambedkar as our guiding light, we will continue to walk the path of the Constitution, uphold its values, and defend the rights and dignity of every citizen. We will fight BJP's 'Divide and Rule' policy together, as one, and we will prevail. Why are people like me demanding that Senate Republicans enforce the standing filibuster on the Democrats? Because we know it will COST them. Just like the State of the Union cost them. If they want to argue against the 80% of Americans and 71% of their own constituents who support requiring photo ID to vote, make them STAND with conviction. Force them to tell the American people why they're shutting down the business of the government, the business of the people, to do something the people are against! But Americans want conviction from BOTH parties. So, Republicans, have the balls to stand up for something you actually believe in. Enforce the talking filibuster and PASS THE SAVE ACT.
