Within the next two hours, two cargo ships will begin unloading the vital raw materials that should save the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe. A third ship - also carrying coking coal and iron ore - is on its way from Australia. @lizsummers reports.

@LizSummers The entire reason the plant was built at Scunthorpe was because suitable raw materials are local to the site. The fact we’re now shipping them in is madness.

Coal remains vital to global energy security. $COAL ETF invests in leading coal producers worldwide, supporting industries dependent on metallurgical and thermal coal. Invest confidently with exposure to coal, a critical global resource.

@LizSummers Ridiculous. Open up a mine here.

@LizSummers Preach net zero one minute , bringing in coal the next. fkwit party

@LizSummers We could easily mine our own, save costs and make more jobs but no come on that would be too much like common sense and harm the planet. Maybe the oompah loompahs are accepting its needed and on that same planet little Britain is not the climate police.

@LizSummers All in the name of #NetZero and useless @Ed_Miliband We’re a global laughing stock

@LizSummers We really are a shambles of a country

@LizSummers At tax payers expenses Coal from Australia. How big was that debt last October £22 billion how much has Labour spent not on the UK. This is what happens when you put a prosecutor in charge of finance no idea starmer.

@LizSummers Kinda highlights the idiocy of net zero

@LizSummers Australia, we’ve got a steel of a deal for you - as a metal of fact.

@LizSummers We should become energy self sufficient by opening our own coal mines and coal fired power stations, Get fracking and use the oil under the North Sea and scrap the Net Zero nonsense and save the economy billions because there is no climate emergency.
