From the country that invented drip irrigation, they’ve just developed the next generation which is an incredible use of physics. N-Drip, developed in Israel by Prof. Uri Shani, former Israeli Water Commissioner, created a gravity-powered micro drip irrigation system that needs zero electricity, zero pumps, and almost no filtration. It simply uses the natural slope of the land to deliver precise water directly to the plant roots. Farmers using the system have reported saving up to 70% of their water while increasing yields by as much as 45%. It also significantly reduces fertilizer use and energy consumption. This kind of practical Israeli technology is helping farmers around the world, especially in places where electricity and clean water are scarce. Done right, this may even be a great solution for irrigation on a future Mars base to save on energy consumption.

Buildings on canal bunds & river embankments, yet the system is sleeping. Panchayat permission given? Irrigation engineers missing in action? Or did the MLA give a green signal to grab the canals? But when we want to build a Ramalayam in our own village, we’re forced to run around courts. Shame on this System!
