I have never worked for an organization other than SAPS,” he said. “I view my work as a calling and not just employment.” Witness C, who has played a key role in exposing internal corruption and links between police officers and organized crime, spoke of living in fear and isolation. “This case has taken more from me than I ever could have imagined. I am not living a man, I am living a shadow of my former life,” he testified. He said he now lives under constant protection, unable to move freely or spend time with his family. “I cannot take my family to a shopping mall or go on holiday.
