Doesnt “vom tag” translate to “from day” or “from the day”

That's a good question, which I also was wondering about m, BUT it appears that in fencing manuals thats "from the roof"

Seeing this sword reminds me of the time a master of the samurai style sword in Japan used a similar sword for the first time. He wasn't sure how to use it and used it like a samurai sword and noted on can instantly deflect instead of parrying first. It was wholesome to watch.
