This is why I am separated from my wife. I caught her gaslighting me and lying and so I left because I felt unsafe. A few weeks later, she said “I read that ptsd can cause false memories, which might explain why you remember me saying and doing all this stuff that I didn’t do or say”, and “I’d like you to talk to your therapist about it”. That felt like more of the same. I’ve tried to explain what was going on with our marriage counselor, and she gives me blank looks and says “I never said that” and “I never did that, I don’t know what you’re talking about” and “I’ve said I was sorry over and over again (she has not)” and “you misunderstood me, I meant it like this (and makes up something innocuous that was obviously not her meaning)”.
