Woot! Two REALLY cool features coming to Adobe Premiere. 1) Generative Extend available today in beta. Take any clip and extend it — with the video and audio automagically extended :)

2) Auto masking directly inside premiere. Basically akin to Segment Anything Model 2 right inside premiere. This one alas is “coming soon” but one I’m most excited about because I won’t need to move into After Effects for simple compositing tasks like this.

I’m not sure extend is going to be used all that often, maybe in AI videos but doubt it will be extensive for regular filmmakers, unless it’s something simple, outputs are still too uncanny in a lot of cases especially when it’s real and the transitioning to generated, you see the denoising still too. But the auto mask will be used TONS.

Heck yeah the segmentation stuff is a game changer. Curious to see what the quality of adobes extend is versus other image to video models.

This looks like a great idea, but I have so many questions! Is the resulting video pixel-perfect? Does it have enough dynamic range for grading? Is it artifact-free? Is the processing happening in your machine or at Adobe servers (for example: NDA projects could be a challenge)
