Nelson gave a talk encouraging the membership of the church and the general public to address the church by its full and proper name. “Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, ‘For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.’” This name isn’t new. We have been the Church of Jesus Christ since the Church was first established and restored. Listen to President Nelson’s explanation and teachings on the name of the Church 👇

At the Samdech Euv Samdech Mé Referral Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has partnered with leaders of the hospital to help increase the level and quality of care they are able to provide. The healthcare providers here are deeply committed to helping people, and it’s an honor to see the success of this facility. This is just one example of how the Church of Jesus Christ, its missionaries, and its members are striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ and go about doing good. All of us, all over the world, can make a difference because of our faith.

The scriptures God has given Christians in the Bible and in modern revelation clearly teach the need for a church. We affirm that the scriptures, ancient and modern, clearly teach the origin of and need for a church directed by and with the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s restored Church, established to teach the fulness of His doctrine and to officiate with His priesthood authority to perform the ordinances necessary to enter the kingdom of God.

It was remarkable to have been in Otavalo, Ecuador and hear that the prophet of the Lord has authorized the building of a temple here. To see the faith of the people here who came to a devotional on a Thursday evening, not knowing this would also be a temple announcement, is incredible. I’ve been so impressed with the faith in Jesus Christ that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ecuador have and feel grateful for them and their example over the decades.
