Words can’t fully express the love I have for our state, our community, and this institution of Tennessee state government. Last night, we gaveled out the 114th General Assembly, and I had the honor of making the final motion to adjourn. In that moment, I found myself both choked up and deeply humbled, grateful beyond words for the past 16 years of service. It has been the privilege of a lifetime, and one I will never forget.

What’s has happened in our homes and schools in this country that thinks that it’s okay for an 8th grader and his girlfriend having a baby - her parents are allowing them to live together in their home. They even allow them to shower together and then the grandfather doesn’t want them to have another baby while in school. I am at a loss for words. How many of you would allow such behavior from your teen and in your home?

I don't have the words to explain how angry and disgusted I am that this is happening. I am so concerned about the security risks and the cost to monitor them for the rest of their lives. If they are dual citizens, they should be stripped of their Australian citizenship. I also address the incident in Farrer with Chris Kenny in this segment.
