Ultimately WE are the carbon they want to remove. The sharp decline in birth rates poisoning our food with shit that makes us sick is no accident. With the AI running everything why would they want useless humans just reproducing and consuming.

Nobody wants to remove us. It is the opposite. They are building a system to make sure the people who aren't able to find work in the future (when it is much harder to find work because of robots and AI) don't die.
