Work coaches do not belong in GP surgeries.

For 4 years I tried to stay in employment with my condition, my job made adjustments but my body didn't adapt, it made it worse, + got stress and depression. Having work coaches in the GP surgery is so wrong most people who are long term sick don't need the extra pressure.

Not sure why I look like a ghost.

They say it's ''voluntary'' - it won't be, they will put pressure on people. I met surgeries will be rewarded by how many people are put in work or something. It's vile

No Drs and nurses belong in Drs surgeries

Having work coaches placed in GP Surgeries will stop people with LD who are having their annual health check ups go once a year not turn up for their appointment.

It's a fundamental abuse of what a GP surgery should be. It should be a space where you can speak about your issues confidentially with your doctor...and no-one else. It should not become an extension of a DWP Fraud Unit.

This is the worst government ever, they seem solely intent of taking money off the disabled and the old, people with mental health problems need specialist help not someone trying to find them a job when visiting the doctors surgery, just brainless and uncaring sadly 🤦🤦

It's intrusive bullying

We train work coaches in disability & trauma informed coaching. We are the only providers of accredited disability work coach training in the UK. We have not been approached by DWP. These people are not "Work coaches" in any reasonable sense of that title.

I’ve not been to my doctor in years even though I’ve done very bad health issues, one being a massive growth growing daily on my arm, I know it’s not good,but I can’t get myself out the door let alone face the doc after my past experiences, lost all bens as can’t facethem either

How beautifully put. Last year when my Mental Health worsened, my GP sent me a link to my local Mind Matters, mainly at the time with struggles in a new role at work. @RichmondFellowship got in touch. They were brilliant.

I there any way people would have a legal 'I do no consent' if this does happen to people? Isn't this breaking GDPR rules or equality rules?

One thing .the way it is at the hard to get an appointment face-, face in a Gp surgery today so this won't work..their empty of patients when you go in now..

I wonder how it would work. Will they ask everyone seeing the Doctor “Do you work” Some don’t work due to disability but don’t claim any benefits. Will they be forced to work and who decides if you can work or not? If its the GP he will be stuck doing assessments all day.

You are of course so right there then Doctor too on that.

Amazingly …the Government could use GPS mental health services in the community to Police LA or any other wasteful Government department ie Hazards in local authorities homes …LA abusing public money ..abuse in mental health settings ..but instead they target the vulnerable .

My council tried to get welfare rights workers into GP surgeries as it would help claimants with reconsiderations & appeals. The NHS vetoed it so there’s a bigger delay for the patient getting the medical evidence to back up their case for support.

There's a time and a place. McFadden has only been the DWP boss for 5 minutes, and he's he's as much of a crackpot as Liz Kendall was! Job coaches don't belong in surgeries.

God forbid anyone struggling with trauma or diagnoses actually recieve any form of therapy. My psychiatrist diagnosed me after raising a concern via letter regarding a serious breach of confidentiality and not a thorough assessment in alignment with the Royal psychiatry.

Nor do those so-called mental health practitioners who feed all your answers into a computer for a limited period then discharge you.

Yes they do, work gives purpose and that helps with depression and long term issues from unemployment.
