I have suffered migraines for nearly 14 years. It impacts every aspect of my life. I don't think all employers are aware of how bad it can be.

They are truly awful, it’s like an ice pick to my head, I can’t speak, I shiver and sweat like I have a fever, lose my speech and vomit. Lying in a dark room thinking you’re going to die is just horrible 🥹All this can go on for a full day then there’s the fatigue and then the increase of more attacks during the postdrome phase. Not all medications work 100% all the time and when they do they can’t rid the exhaustion after the attack. @MigraineTrust

The only thing that works for me is sumatriptan, 3 aspirin, a strong shot of coffee and lie down in a dark room. At its worst, I have difficulty seeing, speaking and at times it feels like my body is shutting down and can be totally debilitating

Until you suffer with migraine you never understand. My GP told me I had had a stroke after my first migraine. I started at 40 ,but thankfully I haven't had one for a while .

People really don’t understand , they say ‘ oh it’s just a headache’ when it’s really not!

Certainly true that work is impossible. Anyone who says they have a migraine but carries on working doesn't really have a migraine but a bad headache. For me the only possible cure is sleep.
