Work never stops especially not with the ongoing construction of the 950-meter Okubadejo–Irawo Road, Phase II. We are currently laying the paving stones, and as always, we’re not just building a road but a solid, lasting solution engineered with quality and precision. This project means a lot to us... because it addresses a long-standing need in our community. It hasn’t been an easy feat, but we are pushing through with determination and excellence. From covered drainages that double as pedestrian walkways to the structure of the road itself, every detail has been carefully considered. This administration is fully committed and even with just a few months left in office, we are not slowing down. We will continue to deliver people-centered, impactful projects till the very last day. We are delighted to inform our people that the drive from Abeokuta to Papalanto is now free of bad portions. The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. Our administration remains resolute in its commitment to providing quality infrastructure that enhances economic growth, facilitates ease of movement, and improves the daily lives of our people. I just inspected the ongoing reconstruction of Sapele Road to assess the quality and progress of work firsthand. I am impressed by the standard of construction being delivered. It took us two months to begin rebuilding and arranging our home. And we are still burdened with debts we have not been able to repay, due to the overwhelming cost of rebuilding our home. To this day, we are still clearing rubble from inside it. And the answer to the question is no — the house is not safe. On the very first night, pieces of plaster fell from the ceiling onto the bed. We were forced to remove all the plaster from the walls with our own hands. We are still trying to settle and adapt, using every possible way just to live. We still love our home. Even though a large part of it has been removed — the kitchen, the hallway, and part of the living room — we continue to see it as our home, our first and last refuge. An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there's great strength in that. And it is very fragile. We rise to a moment and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. I was delighted to commission 71 urban road projects yesterday in Enugu, in fulfillment of the pledge we made to our people who gave us their mandate one year ago. We shall continue to serve Ndi Enugu with every fibre of our being. To make sure that all Trunk A and Trunk B roads in the urban and rural areas are paved, we shall embark on the construction of additional 80 roads, and also see that streetlights as well as water taps are functional. Our rural communities are not left out. We are committed to constructing 10 kilometers of roads in each of our state's 260 wards. We are re-energized to work even harder by the wonderful support from our people. Tomorrow is here!

We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. Israel was attacked on October 7th and every day since, for the crime of existing. For the audacity of just being here. But we are here, and we are here to stay. And despite the trauma we’ve faced, we are in Israel, standing strong together, committed to the memories of those we lost and to the return of our hostages.
