Brilliant.

It's just not fair. They need to stop and do it the hard way because we didn't think of this back in the 80s.

Pretty cool! I like it. Need something in place to collect the sawdust though. Then you have the perfect package.

@ToniLL22 The whole construction looks a little shaky imo. It would worry me a bit.

Lifting the heavier object to be cut by the lighter object. Ya, Brilliant!

It's all fun and games 'til someone loses an arm.

Would you rather lift the chainsaw or a bunch of logs?

Helios's profile picture
Helios2 months ago

Useless at different levels — due to the weight of the wood and the direction of the cut — and dangerous for your arms, hands, and face, because you are cutting with the chain moving forward and have no control over it. Get a band saw if you like lifting!

Several of the logs are heavier than the chainsaw. Plus, he had to build the stand and now has to pick up all the wood off the ground, moving it twice. Why not move the logs to a storage bin and cut them up there with the saw?

If You Do This, Use The LARGE Zip-Ties. Don't Trust Your Limbs To Those Small Ties. Secure The Saw Mechanically If Possible With a Metal Plate Screwed or Bolted To The Bench. Great Idea If You've Ever Used a Chain-Saw. Your Back Will Thank You!

Too bad all the brilliant response fail to realize that a log is heavier than a chainsaw, hence this isn’t really smarter at all.

Can you imagine all of the guards and safety mechanisms you would have to have in place if something like this was commmercially available? Because if you slip and fall into that thing it's going to be no bueno

I doubt that's OSHA approved. He'll need to send out a search party for his thumb.
