@billykyle Saw it yesterday for the first time in Germany. Foreign license plates but man it looked phenomenal.

This is one of those features that comes in handy for situations you don't think about when choosing a new vehicle. Tight parking spot: no problem. Bad weather: got you covered. Parked far away and coming out of the store with 10 gallons of ice cream in the Summer heat: meet me at the door and avoid the melt. Summon FTW!

I tried this recently and had a very bad experience, based on range limitations that Tesla does not talk about enough, and for which the system is ill equipped to handle. I was at a mall and used the summon feature. It seemed to start fine, but then it seemed to freeze up. I was forced to approach the car to see what was going on, only to find it stuck in the middle of an aisle at the back of the lot, blocking three cars trying to leave. It turns out it was within range at the start, but it had to travel away from me to come around on the next aisle. During that process, it got out of range and the system told it to just stop there. A very silly outcome for such a sophisticated vehicle. The system should evaluate the necessary route prior to starting the move and aborting the attempt if doomed for failure.

@billykyle I've loved using summon—please just make the travel distance longer. I even had the truck leave the range while it was coming to me and so I had to go and save it from being in the middle of the parking lot lol.

@billykyle did this once in my model 3 and it hit the corolla next to me. safe to say this shit is ass and tesla does not pay for damages lol

@billykyle had a loaner with FSD. It was raining. Walked out of store with my dad. Stopped under the eave, "wait". "can it pick us up??" asking completely jokingly. *car back out of parking space* "no. shit. how much are these?"

@Tesla @billykyle I tried this and my model 3 went in the wrong direction and then got stuck saying “ASS not available on high speed roads”. I had to run longer in the rain because it was blocking other traffic in the parking lot.
