For the second week, water and electricity are supplied according to schedules due to infrastructure damage caused by the russian army. Electricity and water are supplied according to established schedules, which forces people to plan their activities around the hours when light and water are available. Water supply is often switched to backup power using generators. To cook hot food, many residents use open fires, barbecues, and makeshift kitchens in courtyards and near entrances. They unite with neighbors and families for communal meal preparation.

Good news today: Electricity is slowly being restored. The trams are running again. The trolleybuses are moving. Kyiv has the largest trolleybus network in the world - bigger even than what you see in Seattle or Zurich. And today, those wires above our streets are alive again. But listen closely to this video. This is the sound of Kyiv during war. Not silence. Not surrender. Generators. A constant mechanical hum from courtyards, cafés, office buildings, small shops — engines working around the clock to keep businesses open, to keep families warm, to keep the city functioning when the grid is under attack. Electricity has been partially restored in the Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, and Kharkov regions, but ten regions remain under blackout schedules. Odessa was removed from the list, while Zaporozhye has now joined it. Emergency shutdowns are in effect in Kiev, Kiev region, Sumy, Kharkov, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and parts of Cherkassy, while Chernigov is following scheduled cuts. In Zaporozhye, residents report no electricity and gas disruptions after last night’s strikes. In Kiev, 2,939 infrastructure sites remain without power, 4,474 without water, and 136 social institutions are without heating. A missile hit also damaged a gas line on Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, cutting supply in the city center.
