That ICQ Sound 🥰 ❤️

yes, so lovely - what a time

The EU is going to hate this

Creativity knows no limits — and I refuse to accept any imposed on mine

Expiring invites + no account is a smart combo. Most chat apps add friction to feel "secure" but real privacy means less data collected, not more steps to sign up.

That is my goal

I missed that sound

Yeah I’m trying to bring back some nostalgia

@neomatic I hope the alert sound is… *cough* editable.

@neomatic Absolutely, added already a bunch of variations

@neomatic Link?

@neomatic Soon 🫡

dude you are killing it recently 🔥

Omaphone also does text chat over tor fwiw

Hell yea

It's been a while since hearing that sound, wow. Great idea though!

You're doing amazing work. This is awesome.

@ryrobes How about using matrix for this?

Where's OmaQ registration number.

You find your unique QR-ID in the menu. No registration required

I want this lol

This one of the best ideas I saw so far for Omarchy. Great idea!

is this a customise bar plz ?

Yea my Shibumi-Shell

Do you build the chat on top of ? You might take a look if you don't know it

nice! first the omarchy bbs and now icq. the 90s are back baby

How do you transmit the data? Who pays for the bandwidth? In short, how does it work?

If I play this video with sound once again I'm gonna seppuku right away. 🥹

I made an IRC chat client that launches into a dedicated #omachee channel so other omarchy users can chat with each other.

Love this. I’ve started the other side, Android app which exposes a RCS proxy / bridge. Have clients for all the OSs. It works but Google Messages for Web doesn’t expose API. So a bit hacky and unreliable. I was thinking of adding BitChat style chat to it too, but this is good

that icq message sound :-) looks great - thank you for your efforts on Omarchy

That bar is just beautiful

Re-creating IRC from first principles? A public channel for everyone verifiably running the OS would be pretty cool.

cool concept!

wait, I need this bar config.

can you drop the top menu config

It’s my Shibumi-Shell

Yo how are u managing everything man?

Brah that ICQ sound hits hard. Brough me back to my teens for a moment 😄😄

coming soon 😅

Custom video recording indicator with the timer?

very cool, also, is that background from the climber?

If I still remember my ICQ username and password can I use those?

No mate - it’s not a official icq tool. It’s just the sound I used.

Yeah I know I just wanted to find a use for this information that my brain refuses to forget....

what plugin was used for the menu bar, please?

Love this idea!

@adamcohenhillel Shellbook plugin for Omarchy ?
