There's a popular rumor that storyboards completely ruin character consistency in AI animation. Well, yes and no. 😅 For this video, I generated myself in a bright new look, created a sketch storyboard in GPT Image 2, and animated it with Seedance 2.0. From my experience, if your storyboard is in hyper-realism, the likeness definitely tends to drift. But if you keep it strictly as a sketch? The face stays surprisingly consistent. Currently testing multi-shots with Kling AI 3.0 to see how it holds up. All of this was generated from a single image. This is also the raw audio (definitely an improvement over the delivery of dialogue). Consistency is honestly very impressive. Poor Barry, he just loves honey 🍯 Prompt: Shot 1 (3s): A cinematic shot of a British detective interrogating a bear in handcuffs. Medium over the shoulder shot as the British man says to the bear "Come on Barry! Why do you keep doing this? This is the third time in 3 months now! This time I used a more detailed video prompt, but I wasn't describing the sequence shot-by-shot. The storyboard acted more as a visual guide for the action flow, camera language and overall narrative than as a strict frame-by-frame blueprint. Looking at the result, the model seems to preserve the key beats, escalation and composition of the storyboard while freely interpreting the transitions between them.

In the video prompt, I only include intent, style, reference and visual approach. It follows the storyboard surprisingly well.
