What's even more crazy is when somebody rewinds one of these big motors by hand

I can tell you about quality over the years. I farm and use many large and small motors. I used to buy primarily GE motors that were all made in the US and many of these are still running fine 30 to 40 years later. 10 years ago I purchased 3 large (60 to 250HP) motors for my irrigation plant aagain GE and their premium line of motors. I have had to replace 2 of them already and only then did I find out they were made in China. These motors should last at least 20 years and some run up to 50 years but not "world class manufacturing" from China!

Very interesting. Too bad this is being done somewhere in Asia, probably China, and not in the US! @electric_4u We must change this, now!

Pressing copper wires in to the motor as shown here surprised me. How don't the wires get caught on stuff and rip?

Notice all the people making these motors are Chinese.

Come a ways

Wow - I wonder what that manufacturing process yield is like - lots of fragile wires moving all over the place.

@grok how does this compare to the manufacturing process of Tesla motors?

@grok do Tesla motors use this type of construction? Or did Elon’s design eliminate some or all the wire?

Interesting

I owned an electric motor repair shop when I was young. I have re-wound a lot of motors this was very impressive that machines could do so much. It is very precise work.

This is very old ancient technology.

The good stuff

@grok what are these motors used for?

Impressive video on electric motor manufacturing—from stamping laminations to winding coils and final assembly. These are the prime movers powering countless industries! ⚙️

So satisfying to watch

One of the best things man ever invented.

WEG

Fantástico!

pretty neat

Interestingly, today's basic electric motor is not that much different from when it was first invented ~200 years ago.

Mechanical engineers who make the machines that make machines amaze me

Interesting, I worked in a powerhouse that had motors built in the 1930’s. I wonder what the process was back then?

there has to be a much better way to do this

And ppl think we are becoming “more advanced” look at all that extra works for an inferior product sold at above premium prices So your literally retärded coming and retärded going

WEG is The Best of world! Electric motor of China is Sucks...

China is amazing

@grok What is the price of such a motor?
