World Heavyweight Championship match Chris Benoit Vs. Randy Orton SummerSlam - August 15, 2004

God, I miss the WWE stage sets in the 2000s

Young me was mad Benoit lost. But as ortons career has ran its course. Older me also would’ve definitely put Orton over. 🐐

Also known as the night Orton won the title from 'Vacant' 😅

Chris had no problem putting Orton over

His eyes, all the way up the ramp, told the story. But, at the end of the day, he would’ve been proud, had he seen the man that Randy Orton has become. This is a Championship Match. We don’t get treated to very many Championship Matches like this, anymore. This is what a Championship Match should be. Congratulations, Randy Orton, on this masterpiece of a victory. Dare I say: The Legacy Remains

The biggest error of the HHH era is there really isn’t that “crowning moment” for an up and coming star. This, Edge vs Foley hardcore match, and Brock vs Rock SS crowned all 3 of those guys. WWE needs more matches when it’s just like, yeah, this is our guy.

“BE A MAN!” Benoit told Orton this because of all his backstage antics and his immaturity at the time. The company wanted to make him the face but over time he showed that he wasn’t ready. Hence why they shifted plans to Batista and Cena while Orton was sent to the midcard

Oh yeah I remember this

I feel like they wanted to take the “youngest world champion” title off Lesnar because he left. And Orton was a good candidate

A slept on great main event with a passing of the torch moment. Youngest world champion ever! I remember watching it on PPV at age 12 @PodOnTheMark

What a night

Appreciate this clip I’m watching this tonight !!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Man I loved Randy’s entrance it was like you knew it was his time

Feels good hearing that Benoit theme song again

Chris Benoit is one of the all time best. Im not saying that lightly. Noone in current gen incl superstars like Rollins/ Punk even Gunther comes as close to Benoit's in ring talent. People dont say it because of that tragedy. (He killed his wife & kid, then killed himself)

Shouldn't be showing anything from this child killer, he's like anything from m fing isreali

He used to be my favourite wrestler is Crispen Wah.

Posting anything with that monster? Shame on you. He murdered his little boy
