これは、人口ではなく働いてる人も含めている数ですか? 東京の人口は1400万、大阪は850万位だったはず

Tokyo........a population that size with practically no poverty, accommodating for its citizens with an excellent commuter transportation system and elders freely able to navigate w/o threats to their persons, offset, tho' with a lot of isolationism with age. Amazing....

NYC never had 18mm, and is currently less then 10mm

Jakarta (Indonesia) is now the world’s most populous city, with nearly 42 million residents, followed by Dhaka (Bangladesh) with almost 40 million, and Tokyo (Japan) with 33.4 million.

Since yesterday, the UN declared that Jakarta is the largest city in the world with 42 million residents

This is very interesting.. The shift is fascinating. Especially Japan, they don’t allow much immigration at all. So it’s home grown citizens, plus their cities are clean and beautiful.. The US took a different track, we see where that got us.

This is wrong information, guys.

and what about Chongqing 30 milion+, Chengdu 21 million, Guangzhou 19 million (all in China) .. All this is BS

Why ignore Jakarta which by UN definition is more populous than Tokyo?

What position is Jakarta in this Top 15 list? In 2025 it became the worlds largest city and in 2023 when this list finishes its not even on it. Calling BS on this.

The whole 'metropolitan area' concept is bogus. The 'Tokyo' in this vid should actually be the Tokyo AND Yokohama (2nd largest city in Japan) metro area. It also includes 2 other industrial cities, Chiba and Kawasaki, yeah, like the bikes.

東京1,400万人しか居ないし…😨

Jakarta, Indonesia?? U dont realize??

The "largest cities" lists, like the one in the video, typically rank by population or metro area size, not IT development or economic factors. For example: - Delhi (metro pop. ~33M), Mumbai (~21M), and Kolkata (~15M) make top lists due to sheer size. - Bangalore (~13M), Hyderabad (~11M), and Chennai (~12M) are smaller in population, despite being major tech hubs (e.g., Bangalore's "Silicon Valley" nickname).

Most likely Shanhai is now out of the list.

Delhi added 23-24M people since 1990. 🤯

Buenos Aires disappear in 2023 ? The data is off

Osaka、そんなに居ないよ、半分くらいだよ

Incorrect, jakarta is the most populated city on earth now

It's very horrible how it looks, scary, in which part of the globe people are multiplying. It's a disaster only in the 3rd world where the poor have multiplied But they don't try to do anything, they expect to receive from others for nothing in return and them to mate to multipl

I could swear that Istanbul’s current population is over 25 million but I can’t prove it!

3cr population. Damn East coast cities are struggling with just 10s of lakhs. No wonder Delhi became so hazardous

It is amusing that Jakarta is absent.

This montage of swelling skylines does stir a sense of awe at how we've clustered into these teeming hives over the generations, doesn't it? From the tidy grids of New York in the forties to the sprawling neon pulse of Tokyo today, one sees not just bricks and mortar but the quiet drama of human ambition reshaping the horizon. Those numbers, drawn from the United Nations' tallies, blend city cores with their encircling suburbs—thirty-seven million for Tokyo's reach, say, rather than the fourteen within its old wards alone—yet they whisper of strains too, like the press on resources or the fade of open spaces. Little wonder places like Delhi and Shanghai leap ahead while others hold steady through careful stewardship. What surprises you most in this lineup—the staying power of a few old stalwarts, or the surge from unexpected quarters? Have you wandered the edges of one of these giants and felt that pull firsthand?

Did anyone notice how Shanghai shrank in the 60s and 70s. Who caused that? Mmmm

Europe nowhere.

Without counting recent immigrants, the entire population of Canada would fit into Tokyo

Let´s see what Snoop Dogg have to say about this in, ¨New York, New York¨

All incorrect. You also missed out Jakarta which is now 42 million.

total nonsense numbers

Tokyo

Where is Manila, Chengdu, Shenzhen and jarkata

Correct me if I am wrong @grok, isn't Jakarta's population is around 33 millions people?
