Worrying reports about the closure of a second school in Bushey due to Labour’s VAT hike. I raised this with the Prime Minister today.

Well said! 👏👏 When will the Prime Minster start to listen to all the evidence mounting up and down the UK that this Ideological policy is damaging the education of ALL children? It shouldn’t be about political point scoring & tit for tat! @vickygrayson_ @CreEnglish

Thank you, Oliver. It is incredible that in response to two schools closing, Keir Starmer offers no words of empathy or compassion to the displaced pupils or unemployed staff, but states that the magical money tree will provide for 1 new teacher every 4 state schools by 2029.

All parents are aspirational for their children, maybe you could explain why you let state school funding flat line for a decade?

I see the PM is lying again about recruiting teachers. Where are they going to find the 6,500 teachers when over 40,000 teachers leave the profession every year? And @UKLabour is cutting funding to the state sector with unfunded pay rises? Please someone challenge them on this!

How can the Government continue to defend a policy that closes schools, disrupts the education of children and leads to staff redundancies? This is not a revenue generator. It is reckless and destructive.

Usual reply from @UKLabour. Don’t answer the question and blame the Tories. Roll on April for the legal challenge.

Such a shame we don’t have a Prime Minister that can carry himself like you did when making this statement. He stutters through with no valid information. All the front bench does is blame everyone else. It’s really embarrassing to watch. Thank you for trying.

Great question and a typically awful answer from the worst PM in decades. two fingers up to aspiration.

Well said, usual meaningless world salad back, this time from the top. Thank you for attempting to ask for a considered response
