President Hinckley was always so warm and comforting in the way he taught.

He’s the best.

A good message for the new year when we all say we will do better.

I met him when he came to dedicate the Bismarck ND temple. When the car he rode in stopped for him to attend the first round of meetings, I just happened to be the one that opened the door for him. Out stepped this short (my height) of a man but large in spiritual stature. He locked eyes with me and as he stepped out and stood straight, he took one look at me and said tho it hesitation: “My you are a big boy. I don’t say that negatively, but I look at you as if I stood shoulder to shoulder with you ready to go into battle like Captain Moroni”. I have NEVER forgotten this tender moment!

Oh wow! What a choice experience.

I was able to see him at his home ward where he and his dear wife spoke in Sacrament Meeting. I felt the spirit so strongly witnessing to me that he was a prophet called in this last dispensation of the fulness of times. I hope to never forget that blessing. It was 8/1997.

So good ! Thanks for posting this. Love Hinkley, I remember him shaking my hand when he was at the dedication of the Portland Oregon temple when I was 7 or 8.

He was so awesome. He came to Ricks College when I was there. Unforgettable experience.

Gordon B Hinkley was a great man and a prophet of our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

He will always be my favorite! He had such a sense of complete understanding of this life.

He was president when I was baptized into the church, I reference this talk quite frequently.

I joined when President Hinckley was Prophet and President. What blessings we had under his leadership. As those who came before and since carry the work ever onwards.
