regardless of what they do they are going to cheer about their success and pat themselves on the back next year when "clearly" there aren't as many teams tanking (because the draft class is significantly worse)

What team is going to take a lowest seed play-in over a 6% chance at a the #1 pick

Just an idea: what if the worst three teams got the worst three picks in the lottery? It would screw over bad teams but isn’t that the point?

I believe that each team (not in playoffs) should get the same amount of balls, but the bottom X teams will gain bonus entries the following year unless they either win the lottery or make playoffs

This analogy doesn’t work because there will not be a team good enough to be a Dash in those situation. We will still see tanking at the playin spot, but it gets way more obvious the better the team is, which means risking getting punished by Silver for it

Not really because you can’t control the outcome. Like if you lose a game, you have to hope the other teams that you want to win or lose, do as you wish. You can lose a game but if others win, you’re in the bottom 3 and why would they allow you to get out?
