Would someone please tell Danielle Smith that a driver’s license is not an economic plan?

If they aren't getting their DL until their 20s, MAYBE it's cuz INSURANCE rates in Alberta for young drivers are OBSCENE!! And just maybe AB should raise the minimum wage, up their offers incentivizing hiring youth, & pay more attention to JUST O&G & privatizing HC & Ed 🤷‍♀️

More kids aren’t driving because they see the value of public transportation. Also kids can’t afford insurance costs yet alone a vehicle.

Maybe someone should tell #Smith that auto insurance is too expensive!

What exactly does Dani think “these kids” are going to drive? Don’t you have to access to some kind of a vehicle because tractors don’t get you to work.

I was 16 when I had my first job. Took the bus. I didn't even get my DL until 24. I had my first job cuz of something called co-op. A semester course that covered the Employment Standards Act, writing resumes, doing interviews. My co-op turned to 3 summers of employment.

What does the ndp know about economics. Look at your record in this province.

Maybe "these kids" would be more inclined to work (and harder) if they weren't getting a sub-minimum wage of as little as $13/hr. It's a violation of the principle of equal pay for equal work. A minimum wage based on age is discriminatory.
