It's long been a British cultural thing to re-use churches, and nightclubs are no exception. Limelights from forty years ago is a famous example.

I remember in the 80s the goth band Specimen played the church near Hammersmith Odeon. It's nothing new. If mosques don't want to do this sort of thing, then that's their choice. This has nothing to do with mosques.
