For far too long our (s)elected officials have been g(r)ifted EXTRAORDINARY "benefits" that no common everyday citizen can dare hope to realize Being a representative of OUR Gov't IS a privilege in ITSELF & SHOULD NOT be utilized as a "winning lottery ticket" for CORRUPT LIFELONG "POLITICIANS" GOD BLESS PRESIDENT TRUMP 🙏

It's about time: why do they get lifetime perks? The do-nothing Democrats and some Republicans enjoy lifelong benefits.

Go Trump. I’ve always wanted that to be done with Congress and Senate.. It used to make me sick knowing that they do one term and get a pension for the rest of their life. You’re the best Trump.

This is all shit that should happen whether this is true or not. These assholes in Congress and the Senate can’t write their own ticket. It should all be voted for by we the people not those corrupt mother effers and most importantly, congressional immunity needs to be abolished!

Now this here is another win for the American people! Congress and the Senate have been taking advantage of their seats and there was nothing the people could do about it or so we thought. This is absolutely amazing and it’s about time!

Grok says this never happened and not real. No, the “Congressional Reform Act of 2017” did not pass, and there is no evidence it was ever formally introduced as legislation in the U.S. Congress. It refers to a viral social media post falsely claiming that DJT endorsed & proposed.

Profilbild von Judith Ann Thomas

This is why I voted for DJT. This is how congress was supposed to run. Thank You Jesus, I've been praying for this to happen. We all will be a whole lot happier once the game ends.

Would an Executive Order be able to cover this?? Maybe mass arrests of the people that serves congress?? Maybe when the Government shuts down he can confirm his nominees and get this passed?? I believe there to be ways. What do you think 🤔

I would really like that to be true, but it’s not : The “Congressional Reforms Act of 2017” (sometimes stylized as the “Congressional Reform Act of 2017”) is a fictional bill that does not exist in U.S. federal legislation. It originated as a viral hoax email and social media chain letter that has circulated online since at least 2011, falsely claiming to impose sweeping reforms on congressional perks, term limits, and pay. The hoax gained renewed traction in 2017–2019 when it was baselessly tied to then-President Donald Trump, with posts alleging he “endorsed” or “pushed” it. No such endorsement or bill appears in congressional records, Trump’s public statements, or legislative databases. Key Elements of the Hoax The fabricated text typically includes these unsubstantiated “provisions” (none of which are real law): • Term limits: 12 years maximum for House or Senate service. • No pensions for members: End lifetime federal pensions after one term. • No health care beyond their term: Members would lose taxpayer-funded coverage after leaving office. • Pay tied to budget approval: Congress would go unpaid until passing a federal budget. • No dual office-holding: Ban on holding federal office while running for president or vice president. • Ban on armed guards: Members would use public transit without special security. These claims are riddled with inaccuracies, such as misstating how congressional pensions (governed by the Federal Employees Retirement System) or health benefits (via FEHB) actually work. Fact-checkers, including Snopes and have repeatedly debunked it as satire gone viral or deliberate misinformation. Related Real Legislation from 2017 While no broad “Congressional Reforms Act” passed (or was even introduced) in 2017, Congress did consider narrower reform bills that year. The closest in name and focus: • H.R. 1935: Congressional Pension Reform Act of 2017 (introduced April 2017 by Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-SC; did not advance beyond committee). This bill sought to exclude new members of Congress from the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) annuity portion, requiring them to fund their own retirements fully. It allowed opt-ins within 90 days and preserved Thrift Savings Plan access but had no impact on health care, terms, or pay. Other 2017 efforts touched on ethics or oversight but weren’t titled as a general “reforms act”: • Use of the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to repeal 15 Obama-era regulations (e.g., on environmental protections), but this is a 1996 tool, not a new reform. • Bills like H.R. 1364 (Official Time Reform Act), which limited union activities for federal employees (including some congressional staff). If you’re referring to a specific provision, hoax detail, or different bill (e.g., tax reform or ethics rules), provide more context for clarification! For official records, check

That is great news. This is way overdue. This will wake the country up, and people will be able to realize that anyone born a citizen of this country can truly become president. A citizen president is a must from here on out to oversee the politicians as a buffer for us all.

These are great, ambitious, ideas & goals. It's too bad none of those rules are in effect now. Maybe one day they'll be a reality in the US. Hopefully, we'll see a win on insider trading with this
