Ignorance is what make people, especially Gen zees think that all Igbos must sound similar. There are over 40 Yoruba dialects in Ondo that a regular Lagosian may not understand.

My mum speaks Ezza as much as she speak Owerri. While growing up she interacts with every Abakalili indigene she sees around because of her social nature. It got to a point that my peers started making jest of me that "Mama unu bu onye Abakeleke. I started appreciating her more when I became older.

This is why I tell those who said because they speak Ikwerre that is a bit off from central Igbo to give other reasons why they don't want to identify as Igbos. I can certainly understand Ikwerre more than what this Igbo girls speaks.
