correct me if I'm wrong but In a Shanahan style offense the motion is only used to determine which play is going to be ran. In the huddle when the play is called they have their main play and a kill play. when they line up the motion is used to give the QB the info he needs to identify the defense and either run the play that was called or kill to the next.

@mattmoneysmith When you overcomplicate an offense, you get what we have, tons of false starts, bobbled snaps because the motion timing is off, and just overall confusion throughout the offense. All the lateral plays are doing nothing for us. We need to simplify the offense and be under center.

@mattmoneysmith What I’m hearing is just send Q in motion every snap then. Keep him away from the ball

@mattmoneysmith This is the kind of stat I’d expect in a Roman offense if he barely learned motion. Like a caveman discovering fire, but not knowing what to do with it

@mattmoneysmith When you have criticism from Money then ITS BAD

@mattmoneysmith Yep. He keeps it very positive, but he knows he can’t do that with an (0-3) team. Gotta be real.

@mattmoneysmith McDaniel is a moron.

@mattmoneysmith I believe McDaniel uses motion to mess up defensive responsibilities and assignments as well. But I also think its messing us up as much

@mattmoneysmith As a Dolphins fan the only thing surprising here is that Chargers fans have already caught on to how bad McDaniel actually is. I thought it’d take at least until mid season.

@mattmoneysmith

@mattmoneysmith That’s basically playing 10 vs 11 players on 85 outta 90 plays 🤷🏾♂️🙂↔️

@mattmoneysmith They run that stupid motion behind the QB about half those times. It’s beyond a joke! This isn’t youth football my god.

@mattmoneysmith @chargers Mike McDaniel doesn’t even understand the basic principles of the offense he calls. He is just doing things to do them cause other good coaches do them but he doesn’t understand why he is doing it. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

@mattmoneysmith Well maybe that's part of Mikes master plan - make the defense believe the guy in motion is the target - but it's actually someone else 🤔 I don't know - you'd have to ask Mike. He believes he's some kind of genius - so maybe that's his philosophy.

@mattmoneysmith Money is great. This stat is insane. McDaniels is too smart for his own good. He's ruined this offense & Herbert 👎🤬

@mattmoneysmith Where was this recorded at

@mattmoneysmith @krisrhim1 @bynoahfurtado

@mattmoneysmith Even further...Chargers and the Bucs both haven't won a game...

@mattmoneysmith Thinking McDaniel is overrated...

@mattmoneysmith 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

@mattmoneysmith So you are saying the motion isn’t fooling anyone.

@mattmoneysmith Correct me if im wrong but why is adam gase in the passing coordinator hes trash

@mattmoneysmith Both teams that have the highest motion like you said the chargers and bucs odd both teams are 0-3 ?

@mattmoneysmith It makes sense that if the chargers use motion 10% more than anyone else that the motion player would be involved the lowest percent of the time. The question is, how far out of line is 5%? I bet it is a lot, cuz that feels insanely low, but that’s the meaningful comparison

@mattmoneysmith Yeah, this stat is crazy😲

@mattmoneysmith Example #373 that McDaniel is over coaching HARD by the way BUCS and BOLTS collective 0-6 simplify the Freakin offense and get it going

@mattmoneysmith I don’t think the motion has to be a threat based on target share. It’s a very valuable tool to know the coverage and make everything look the same

@mattmoneysmith Mike really just has these guys running coniditioning drills in live games smh @ebiz2291 @TempeTownTrev

@mattmoneysmith LOL! He doesn’t get the reason for the motion offense

@mattmoneysmith No more excuses. They suck a$$.

@mattmoneysmith I understand what he means but isn’t the point of motion to diagnose if it’s man or zone or for the player to get a free release

@mattmoneysmith TAKE THAT AND THAT TO THE HIGHLIGHTS.

@mattmoneysmith Worse....you are basically telling the opponent that they don't have to worry about that player in motion at all.

@mattmoneysmith the timing issues are killing me, feels like we are overthinking it
