i ran into zohran while he was out & about, got to chat with him briefly, & my god this dude is definitively a once in a generation politician. i mean he is remarkably difficult to dislike. he always has that giant smile, never seems overly performative, & does stuff like this all the time around the city. overall the dude is great. now, if he toned down some of the crazier government run stuff, price controls, rent freezes, etc. he’d unquestionably go down as legendary.

These claims have been floating around for two days now, and somehow not a single outlet has felt the need to check them against the actual footage. Here is what happened. First, the NYPD was not shutting down a harmless snow day snowball fight. Officers responded after receiving calls about disorderly conduct around the park. Over the loudspeaker, they told people to enjoy themselves and remain inside the park. One officer can clearly be heard encouraging the kids to have fun. They stood back and monitored the situation. Then the snowballs started flying. Not just light powder tossed between friends, but hardened snow and chunks of ice aimed directly at officers. Second, yes, there were kids involved. There were also grown adults in the crowd. Some of them were not calming things down. They were egging it on, urging people to throw ice at uniformed officers. Third, these were not soft, playful snowballs. Many were large, compacted chunks of ice, some the size of a football. Ice like that can break bones and split skin. It did. Officers were hospitalized with facial lacerations. The footage is available for anyone who wants to watch it. When members of the press decline to describe what is plainly visible because it may hurt Mamdani politically, that stops being journalism. It becomes advocacy.

UPDATE The man in the video has now come forward and provided the following video to explain what he brought into Mitch Sylvester's store. Information that I have received includes - He avoided calls from the RCMP for several weeks - He left the store with the item - He is claiming it was just a misunderstanding - The RCMP still has an open investigation - Charges could still be filed - There was one item, not two as previously reported If this was infact the item he brought into the store along with his "This is for Mitch" message, this is hands down the dumbest thing anyone can do to the employees of the store, and to Mitch directly. There still is an active investigation as showing staff a bullet, or a pen that looks like a bullet, uttering a threat, and not responding to the RCMP for weeks, is still grounds for criminal charges. Thank you to the dozens of people who did recognize the man, and provided tips.

I used to own a company that went bankrupt a year ago. At the time, it felt like everything was collapsing because of a series of wrong decisions—decisions that, looking back now, turned out to be blessings in disguise. This man was driving in stop and go traffic with wet road conditions. The people in front hit their brakes but he doesn’t hit his at first, he speeds up a little and swerves into the left shoulder lane and the truck with a trailer behind him smashes into the car in front of him causing a chain reaction accident of cars. Some say he might be to blame because he didn’t brake because he was going to fast himself and it didn’t give the truck behind him enough time to stop. Others say no way, he had great defensive driving skills being aware of what was happening behind him. I am constantly looking in my rearview mirror and have swerved many times to avoid being hit from behind. Do you think his defensive driving skills were top notch or do you think he was partly to blame for that accident? Do you constantly watch your review mirrors? Been rear ended before.

The poll shows that 81% of Germans state that illegal immigration was “far too high” or “rather too high” over the last 10 years, and only 5% view the levels as appropriate. Another 75% say illegal migration has been bad for Germany. Yes, in Germany… the same country that once opened its doors to over a million refugees in 2015, which was promoted by Angela Merkel, her CDU, and the left. However, after years of failed integration, rising crime headlines, housing shortages, and mounting public frustration, the mood has flipped hard. Nowadays, 53% of Germans favor a total moratorium on all new immigration and immigration overall, as well as the return of a large number of migrants to their homelands, otherwise known by many on the right as “remigration” or mass deportation.
