I disagree to the extent that they know the power of their words. They know the reaction they are going to get. And they say and do these things in the hope to get those reactions.

I would disagree with Shapiro on one point. Vance knows exactly what his power is. He knows exactly what he's doing, and he doesn't care who gets hurt as long as they keep the entire media apparatus focused on this "created storyline." They're doing this on purpose.

@BettyBowers I’d argue the JD Vance does know what he’s causing and his pursuit of power shows he cares not at all for the suffering of people he impacts.
