Le Pen has lost her appeal in the embezzlement case. She was sentenced to three years in prison (two years suspended, plus one year served under electronic monitoring/ankle monitor). The Paris Court of Appeal upheld the conviction but significantly reduced the original five-year ban on running for office. Her protégé, Jordan Bardella, is expected to become the RN's presidential candidate. Le Pen is set to deliver a major speech this evening at 8 p.m. CET.
She was not exonerated. But her sentence does not prevent her from running in the upcoming elections. She is sentenced to wear an electronic monitoring.
The Leftist regime in France controls the law courts, so it’s likely the regime is now unlikely to allow a presidential election next year, therefore theoretically making it possible for Le Pen to run for President, is likely nothing more than a propaganda stunt.
