Jamal Khashoggi's widow, Hanan Elatr Khashoggi, called President Trump’s comments on the 2018 murder of the journalist “disturbing” and is demanding a transcript of the conversation between the president and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Trump said Tuesday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, known as MBS, "knew nothing" about the murder, despite a 2021 intelligence report finding bin Salman ordered the killing. "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about, whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen, but he knew nothing about it and we can leave it at that," Trump said. MBS had said, "It's painful and it's a huge mistake, and we are doing our best that will never happen again."
