Someone in ICE commits a crime prosecute them. Don't hit and run, it's an old rule. This doesn't feel like a scandal. I know plenty of cops who got DUIs, they take it like a man, wear the orange SILD vests and pick up trash like everyone else on the freeway that gets a DUI for their community service.

It seems that Republicans are trying to gaslight everyone into believing that Dayanne Figueroa rammed into an ICE agent’s car… So let’s break down the video, frame by frame. 1. This is Chicago… a dense, urban area with traffic in every direction. 2. The street is two-way… you can clearly see another car driving toward the camera. 3. The ICE agent, in an unmarked vehicle, is sitting in the road. 4. They then make a very wide turn… onto the left side of the road. 5. At this point, the agent is driving on the wrong side of the road. 6. The ICE agent, seemingly unaware of their surroundings (never ideal while driving in a major city), tries to enter the correct lane… without signaling, and without checking to see if someone’s already in that lane. 7. And it turns out, someone was already in that lane… Note: A federal agent, in an unmarked vehicle, does not have the right of way unless they have their 🚨 on. The ICE agent did NOT have their 🚨 on. 8. So, the ICE agent made an improper and unsafe lane change and hit Dayanne Figueroa’s car. 9. At first, ICE didn’t want to talk. This may be the only video of a real conversation with an ICE agent. After following them from an elementary school where they’d been circling to a parking lot, I was able to get a few words in. This is part of that conversation. As you’ll see, in a genuine conversation, even this ICE agent understands that they must be accountable. And when I’m elected to congress, we will hold ICE accountable- every agent who abused their authority, pepper sprayed kids, or illegally broke into someone’s home. But until November, we have to use our voice in whatever ways we can. Protest. Make noise. Talk to your friends and neighbors. Support your community. And if you get the chance at a safe distance- even talk to an ICE agent– and make it clear that if they want things to change, they must be part of that change. This is how we get ICE out of Minnesota.

But it gets worse… In Joliet, IL, ICE agents jumped out of their cars, racially profiled a man, began handcuffing him, and forced him into an unmarked vehicle that had its license plate covered. And they did all of this before even confirming who he was. As U.S. citizens began recording the incident, ICE agents started forcing them farther back, even though they were not interfering with the arrest. One of the agents looked at a teenager, who was just standing there and filming, and said, “Step back a little bit.” The teenager wasn’t interfering. In fact, a woman was standing even closer. And then, without warning, the ICE agent violently shoved the teenager to the ground. Moments later, another ICE agent pulled out a taser and threatened the legal observers, despite them remaining away from the vehicle, and not interfering. And after all of that, about 20 minutes later… ICE released the man they had kidnapped because they realized he was not undocumented. Think about how insane that is… A man was detained, handcuffed, and taken away before ICE even confirmed they had the right person. That’s exactly why the Fourth Amendment exists… to protect people from unreasonable seizures by the government. And then there is the issue of an ICE agent shoving a teenager to the ground… Using significant physical force against someone, especially a teenager, who is not posing an immediate threat, not resisting, and not interfering… is excessive force. Federal agents do not get a free pass to assault teenagers because they are standing nearby. The First Amendment protects the right to record law enforcement in public, and government officials cannot use intimidation, or force, to silence people who are lawfully documenting their actions. This wasn’t just about one man being kidnapped…. It was about everyone standing there. A teenager was thrown to the ground. Legal observers were threatened. U.S. citizens exercising their constitutional rights were intimidated. And an innocent man lost 20 minutes of his freedom because ICE believes they are allowed to kidnap anyone they want. So, why are these ICE agents not being held accountable?

Moments later, another ICE agent pulled out a taser and threatened the legal observers, despite them remaining away from the vehicle, and not interfering. And after all of that, about 20 minutes later… ICE released the man they had kidnapped because they realized he was not undocumented. Think about how insane that is… A man was detained, handcuffed, and taken away before ICE even confirmed they had the right person. That’s exactly why the Fourth Amendment exists… to protect people from unreasonable seizures by the government. And then there is the issue of an ICE agent shoving a teenager to the ground… Using significant physical force against someone, especially a teenager, who is not posing an immediate threat, not resisting, and not interfering… is excessive force. Federal agents do not get a free pass to assault teenagers because they are standing nearby. The First Amendment protects the right to record law enforcement in public, and government officials cannot use intimidation, or force, to silence people who are lawfully documenting their actions. This wasn’t just about one man being kidnapped…. It was about everyone standing there. A teenager was thrown to the ground. Legal observers were threatened. U.S. citizens exercising their constitutional rights were intimidated. And an innocent man lost 20 minutes of his freedom because ICE believes they are allowed to kidnap anyone they want. So, why are these ICE agents not being held accountable?

🚨An ICE agent illegally pulled over a car in Farmingdale, Maine… without probable cause… and tried to tell people, legally in the U.S., that they don’t have the right to stay. The agent says, on video, “Just because you came to this country and applied for asylum… doesn’t mean you get to stay here.” Except… it literally does. That’s not an opinion. That’s the law. If you apply for asylum, you have a legal right to remain in the United States while your case is processed. Period. So what just happened here? New: Another tow truck driver illegally tows the vehicle of a federal agent while transferring Carlos Ricardo Parias, a 44-year-old an illegal alien to a hospital after the criminal tried to ram his vehicle at the agents. The agents open fired at the invader and was hit in the elbow. A Marshall agent was also hit on the hand when the bullet ricocheted. This is the second ICE vehicle towed from the hospital.
