WOW! The LAPD is reporting this accident involved a federal agent (apparently an ICE agent) who appears to have hit a vehicle of people who claim to actually be US citizens. It then appears that the federal agent(s) fled the scene when they got it wrong. Is ICE now...

That's what happens when you hire a bunch of white supremacists and throw them on the streets without putting them through rigorous police training.

The line between civilized society and lawlessness is razor-thin, and under Trump's watch, it's being eroded with every reckless ICE operation. It's a symptom of a regime that prioritizes fear over justice, where federal agents can ram into citizens' cars and flee.

Someone in ICE commits a crime prosecute them. Don't hit and run, it's an old rule. This doesn't feel like a scandal. I know plenty of cops who got DUIs, they take it like a man, wear the orange SILD vests and pick up trash like everyone else on the freeway that gets a DUI for their community service.

🚨An ICE agent hit a U.S. citizen with his car… A man is walking down a public sidewalk… doing nothing illegal… simply filming. An ICE agent turns into a gated entrance, and instead of waiting for the man to cross, instead of honking, instead of yielding like literally every driver is required to do… He drives straight into him. We have already seen ICE agents kill people when someone moves a car near them… …but this agent? He drove his car directly into a U.S. citizen walking on a sidewalk. And when the man says, “You just hit me”… The agent responds: “Move out of the fucking way.” That alone tells you everything about how this agent views the law, and the lives of U.S. citizens. The agent then he tries to twist reality, claiming the man is “interfering” with operations… For walking on a public sidewalk. Filming federal agents is legal. Walking down the street is legal. Running someone over because they’re recording you? That’s reckless endangerment, and assault with a vehicle. And then, it spirals into straight intimidation… The agent starts at the man saying, “Do you want to do something? You ain’t gonna do shit.” A federal agent, taunting a civilian, after hitting him with a car… Trying to provoke a reaction. ICE agents claim fear when it benefits them… …but show none when they’re the ones behind the wheel. This is exactly how people end up dead. And it’s happening with zero accountability.

ICE’s story about the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo is collapsing under the weight of its own secrecy. ICE claims Lorenzo rammed a federal vehicle and tried to run over an agent. Then release the evidence. Release the video. Release the photographs. Release the reports that supposedly justify federal agents shooting a man who was not even their intended target. asks: Why were these agents operating in unmarked vehicles without body cameras? Why should the public accept the word of armed government agents who killed someone, failed to record the encounter and now refuse to release the evidence they claim supports their story? The publicly available footage does not show Lorenzo attempting to ram an ICE vehicle or strike an agent. ICE keeps repeating that allegation, but repetition is not evidence. Three detained witnesses say an agent opened fire almost immediately and that no officer was in Lorenzo’s path. Their attorney says ICE is pressuring them to accept removal before they can testify fully. DHS denies that allegation. Protect the witnesses. Do not deport them before an independent investigation can hear their evidence. LULAC says agents removed Lorenzo’s identification, leaving the hospital to admit him as John Doe and making it harder for his family to locate him. That allegation also demands investigation. ICE does not get to kill a man, issue a press release and declare itself innocent. Release every video. Preserve every witness. Name every agent involved. Submit to an independent investigation. PAXIS helps immigrants, citizens and allies prepare for ICE encounters legally and constitutionally. Help put it into the hands of everyone:

🚨BREAKING: An ICE agent was just caught on video violently shoving a TEENAGER to the ground, in a Chicago suburb. But it gets worse… In Joliet, IL, ICE agents jumped out of their cars, racially profiled a man, began handcuffing him, and forced him into an unmarked vehicle that had its license plate covered. And they did all of this before even confirming who he was. As U.S. citizens began recording the incident, ICE agents started forcing them farther back, even though they were not interfering with the arrest. One of the agents looked at a teenager, who was just standing there and filming, and said, “Step back a little bit.” The teenager wasn’t interfering. In fact, a woman was standing even closer. And then, without warning, the ICE agent violently shoved the teenager to the ground. Moments later, another ICE agent pulled out a taser and threatened the legal observers, despite them remaining away from the vehicle, and not interfering. And after all of that, about 20 minutes later… ICE released the man they had kidnapped because they realized he was not undocumented. Think about how insane that is… A man was detained, handcuffed, and taken away before ICE even confirmed they had the right person. That’s exactly why the Fourth Amendment exists… to protect people from unreasonable seizures by the government. And then there is the issue of an ICE agent shoving a teenager to the ground… Using significant physical force against someone, especially a teenager, who is not posing an immediate threat, not resisting, and not interfering… is excessive force. Federal agents do not get a free pass to assault teenagers because they are standing nearby. The First Amendment protects the right to record law enforcement in public, and government officials cannot use intimidation, or force, to silence people who are lawfully documenting their actions. This wasn’t just about one man being kidnapped…. It was about everyone standing there. A teenager was thrown to the ground. Legal observers were threatened. U.S. citizens exercising their constitutional rights were intimidated. And an innocent man lost 20 minutes of his freedom because ICE believes they are allowed to kidnap anyone they want. So, why are these ICE agents not being held accountable?

🚨An ICE agent illegally pulled over a car in Farmingdale, Maine… without probable cause… and tried to tell people, legally in the U.S., that they don’t have the right to stay. The agent says, on video, “Just because you came to this country and applied for asylum… doesn’t mean you get to stay here.” Except… it literally does. That’s not an opinion. That’s the law. If you apply for asylum, you have a legal right to remain in the United States while your case is processed. Period. So what just happened here? An armed federal agent pulled over a vehicle, without probable cause, misstated the law, and tried to intimidate people out of rights they legally have. That’s a constitutional violation. The Fourth Amendment requires probable cause to stop and detain someone. You don’t get to pull people over just because you feel like it or because of who they are. And Maine law enforcement has already made this clear in other cases… if there’s no probable cause, you don’t get to hold someone. That’s a basic constitutional protection. Then there’s due process… Asylum seekers are in a legal process. They are not “illegal” for being here. The government itself allowed them in while their cases are pending. So, when an ICE agent tells them they don’t have the right to stay… That’s not just wrong, that’s the government lying about your rights to your face. And when the people in the car pushed back… when they actually knew the law… The agent left. Because he never had the legal authority to begin with. This is the pattern we keep seeing… People with legal status being stopped, questioned, detained, or targeted anyway. Even recent reporting out of Maine shows asylum seekers, with no criminal records, being stopped during enforcement operations, and taken. They test the line… cross it… and hope nobody notices. That’s how intimidation works. And no one is holding them accountable.
