This carrier is tied to at least four other businesses. This was their fifth truck crash. They average 2.67 violations every time they are inspected and get put OOS at least 50% of the time. Their most recent violations include maintenance issues and drivers operating without a valid CDL or medical card. Vehicles crash into buildings more than 100 times a day in America. That means this is not some freak once in a lifetime event. It happens constantly. In this Colorado crash, police say the semi came off Santa Fe Drive, went off the road, hit a parked car, and shoved it into a QuikTrip building. The wall partially collapsed. The person inside the parked car had to be rescued. There were employees and customers inside the building. The driver reportedly claimed brake failure, but investigators said they found no mechanical issue with the truck and cited him for careless driving causing bodily injury. This is who we, as in our families, are sharing the road with and this one is not even as bad as some others. By the time a truck is plowing into a gas station, the real story usually started long before the day of the crash. It started with what kind of carrier was allowed to keep operating like this. It started with what kind of truck was allowed on the road. It started with what kind of driver was put behind the wheel. It started with what kind of violations were tolerated. It started with what kind of warning signs kept getting ignored. We have made trucking way too comfortable with excuses. Brake failure. Medical episode. Sun in the eyes. Could not stop in time. AI video is waaaaay better than most people realize. I came with this stupid idea for a terrible PS1 game with hideous textures and a jumping catfish... 30 minutes later, I had this. It's almost exactly what I had in my head. Between Nano Banana, GPT Image 2 and Seedance 2 you can pretty much create anything you can think of, with more granular control than people realize. It's not perfect but it's VERY good and I'm really excited to see the wild shit that new creators do with it!
