WRESTLING SPEED & AGILITY??? 🤼♂️ Improving overall “athletic capabilities,” both general & specific, should be one of the top priorities in every off-season program, in every single sport… Including wrestling! Better Movers = Better Wrestlers

@FSQ_Sports Makes no sense coach! They don’t sprint in wrestling! (Coming from a guy who sees the most progress in wrestlers training when implements traditional sprint/jump training with wrestlers.)

Based on the real-life experiences of legendary #SEALTeam6 vet & adventure race champ @DonUSFrogMann, #SurvivingMann is the ultimate test of body, mind, and soul. 💥 See what determined people are truly capable of. Streaming now. #Fearless #NavySEALs #SpecOps #GetTactical

@FSQ_Sports I see where your coming from but I feel in a sport like wrestling just going live or starting in a awakward position could easily take the place of this interesting story for you here : when i visited Iowa I sat in on Terry and Tom brand’s practice/lift while lifting the form 1/2

You can say that about any sport tbh. “Just go play the sport.” Like I mentioned in my original post, there’s time to train general capabilities and there’s time to train specific capabilities. You have to do both, and general is very important especially with developmental athletes. My job as a performance coach is to improve those general capabilities, the wrestling coach will improve the actual specific wrestling capabilities. This drill will never take the place of live wrestling and it’s not supposed to. Same with an awkward RDL or great looking RDL. Improving general will help benefit the specific. (Btw I do agree with getting strong in awkward positions, for all sports. And there are ways to train those capacities. But every sport has awkward positions that can only be touched by playing the sport) Sorry for the long answer, hope that makes sense.

@FSQ_Sports I agree tbh with a lot of sports I just feel like wrestling is the biggest outlier in terms of this
