Write a prompt, you’ll use it once. Write a skill, you’ll use it forever. Introducing custom skills for Notion AI.

Tip: Turn any page into a skill. Just open the ••• menu.

More on skills: they're just Notion pages. They teach Notion AI one thing, really well — reformat notes, draft updates, whatever you do on repeat. Use them via the text menu or @-mention it in chat. And because they're pages, you can share them with your team.

Great framing — the shift from prompts to skills mirrors the shift from scripts to functions in programming. Reusable, composable AI behaviors are what actually compound. The whole 'AI as OS' thesis lives or dies by whether you can build a good library of these.

👀

Is is normal I don't have the Skills functionnality in my workspace yet ?

I love this, i made a database for skills and instructed my agent to reference it for all requests. Look forward to checking out this implementation

@NotionHQ, been a week and I still don't have this on my business account. Is there something I need to do? Checked for updates, restarted Notion...nothing

Can skills be scheduled separately?

Skills are still NOT available in my Business Account 🚨 Why?

Colleagues, you're great. But tell me, how long should we wait for the Notion AI Instruction equivalent to be improved to the level of CLAUDE.MD? I'm primarily talking about the ability to create as many of these files as needed anywhere in the workspace.

Aren’t skills gas guzzlers though? In terms of token consumption? If I’m calling on agents to refer to a database full of skills …

still not showing up. is it GA yet?

Still not available in my Workspace ☹️

I already did this will instruction pages I can tag. (upload a pdf and type @ Negotiate, for example.) How is this different than my little work around?

Looks awesome, but it hasn’t hit my account yet 😭 Still waiting!

Is this open to everybody?

Directing to email for resolution is a common strategy. How do you ensure the user's journey remains seamless across channels, especially when context is critical for effective support?

Hmm - where’s the open skills standard? Don’t just repackage a prompt library and call it “skills”.

Love this 🚀

Same with me and SEO tools, write a script once, rule a thousand websites forever

I'm excited to check it out!

@andymadrick Updating my workspace again. Still excited to see what more powerful AI updates are coming next. 💯

I still have no access to this

Why haven’t I used this feature yet?

Oooo nice!

We rolled this out a few weeks ago. Awesome idea. Keep it rolling!

Skill:

similar thinking here, but what about creating a whole workflow from a prompt, not just a skill, lets you build agent apps that run autonomously, no code required

Fully rollout? I dont have it.

Rolling out now! Should be 100% GA tomorrow.

Alright thanks.

*Update: sources say GA this week

@samuelriggio that's exactly what i need ! looking forward to it

@NotionHQ Do you have it?

Why don’t you make a plan for 1 individual? Like $10 with limited version of Business with AI. I would happily pay.

You really know your users. Everything just flows.

We kept a shared doc of prompts everyone copy-pasted. Half were stale within a month because someone tweaked the wording and never updated the source. Making skills native pages with @-mention access fixes the distribution problem, not just reuse.

This is exactly what I needed! Custom skills are a game changer for repetitive tasks. Already thinking about building skills for my daily workflow 🔥

This is the right abstraction. Prompts are disposable, skills are durable. The real advantage is not just reuse, it is encoding judgment, workflow, and guardrails so the system gets more consistent as the surface area grows.
