WWF DARK Cage Intercontinental Title Match Champion Shawn Michaels vs Challenger Marty Jannetty August 17, 1993

This match should have happened at Wrestlemania 9.

I think Jannetty should have changed up his attire to something unique to him after the breakup. Growing up I just thought of him as the Rocker who got left behind unfortunately.

The same match they used for his pre-intro graphic at Heroes Of Wrestling twice.

@HaunchTheMooz The one where Raven is on commentary & says "Michaels is looking a little pudgy"!

Bring back the blue cage

I own every RAW from its conception til the end of 2003( matters because this was Tuesday). This is something I have never witnessed!!🫣 Fucking love it

I forgot how doughy HBK was in '93.

😮

This was my favorite era Shawn, that first IC title run, when he's heeling it up and trying to find himself. The tights he wore too were my favorite of the era as well.

Incredible @grappleclips never seen this, thanks for sharing! @shawnmichaels phenomenal. Is that @theraveneffect Raven on commentary?

I've never seen this match

Their best match probably.

This match happened after Marty won the IC Championship from Shawn earlier in the year, but then lost it a month later. Quite a ride from the Rockers' breakup at the beginning of 1992 to their off-and-on feud (which kept getting derailed due to Marty getting fired a few times).

I just watched this match last night on the WWE Vault channel on YouTube. It's called Bloopers, Bleeps & Bodyslams

Always awesome dance partners. Marty was a great wrestler and perhaps the best HBK rival in the first half of 90's.

Westchester County Center. Good times

Seems like they used to do a lot of good dark matches back in the day..,

Nice one

Should’ve had this match at King Of The Ring.

What Coliseum Video was it on?
